Surgical Removal Of Infected Tissue

Surgical removal of infected tissue in a Coast Live Oak. You can see the bleeding of the tissue in the first photo, identifiable by darkening, weeping and cracked bark. Once we opened the tree, we found ear wigs, beetles, a caterpillar and earth worms!

After smoothing the bark with a multi tool we burned the tissue and lime washed the tree to protect the bark from cracking and future pathogens.
